Become a Legacy Legend Today

Join our monthly giving community and stand with the families who’ve stood for us.

A Legacy Legend shows up, not just once, but for the long haul.

They understand that grief doesn’t run on a timeline.

That rebuilding takes time.

That the families of our veterans deserve ongoing support, not just during the hard moments but in the everyday ones, too.

Legacy Legends
are the reason a widow gets a visit.

The reason a child gets to go to camp.

The reason a family in crisis feels seen, supported, and safe.

A Legacy Legend isn’t just giving.

They’re leading, with compassion, consistency, and purpose.

WE LOST HIM, AFTER HE MADE IT HOME

Making it home, you're considered one of the lucky ones. But the war doesn't end when you get home. Steve battled with pain, physical injury and PTSD as a result of his military service.

He spoke up about the physical pain... but when it came to the trauma in his mind, he went quiet.

He tried his best to show up for his wife, two little girls and baby boy, even when everything was falling apart inside.

Until one night, the struggle became too much.

Mel found herself widowed at 34, left to raise two daughters and her son, far too young to understand why their dad was gone.

There was no pause for grief. Just paperwork, bills, and three little hearts breaking right alongside hers.

“I felt like I was drowning,” Mel says. "I didn't know how to explain to my children that their dad didn't die in war but because of his service."

The world kept going, even after hers had shattered.

Then FNQ Legacy stepped in. FNQ Legacy helped to cover the kids’ education and sporting expenses, but more than that, Legacy gave Mel a Legatee, someone she could count on. Her Legatee became like family, a reminder that they aren’t on this journey alone.

Eight years on, whilst there are still some hard days and hurdles for the family to juggle, the good times are starting to outweigh the bad.

Mel’s eldest is preparing to graduate high school. She dreams of becoming a marine biologist and one day, a Legatee herself, so she can help other families like hers.

Meanwhile, the two younger ones are chasing big dreams of playing netball and basketball professionally.

This is what FNQ Legacy and your support makes possible.

THE ALLEN FAMILY - CAIRNS

When you are a Legacy Legend...

You honour the families who’ve sacrificed for our country. You carry the torch of service and remembrance into the future.

You ensure no widow, child, or veteran’s family faces hardship alone. You help build stronger, more connected communities across Far North Queensland.

You understand that healing takes time, and that mental wellbeing matters. You show up in the quiet moments, not just the public ones.

Because you don’t just scroll past tragedy and do nothing. You believe in showing up. Because you want your life, and your dollars, to mean something.

You stand with the families behind the uniforms, when they need it most.

“I give because I believe in honouring the families behind the uniforms. Joining Legacy Legends gave me a sense of purpose, knowing my monthly support helps kids get to camp, widows feel connected, and families know they’re not forgotten. It’s a legacy worth building.”  Anne, Legacy Legend

"In business, I talk about leadership a lot, but this is real leadership. Supporting Legacy families is a responsibility I take seriously. It’s not charity. It’s mateship in action. Legacy Legends allows me to contribute to something lasting."   Peter, Legacy Legend

“I’m not in the military, but I believe in showing up for the people who are. Legacy Legends gives me that chance. Every month, I know I’m helping a veteran’s child feel safe, supported, and seen. That’s the kind of Australia I want to be part of.” Jenna, Legacy Legend
